Closets nowadays can be so much more than a small space to hang your clothes. We have helped create a luxurious experience with their walk-in closets.  These are going to be some tips on designing a walk-in closet that gives you that boutique feel.

Tips on Designing a Walk-In Closet

There are so many options when it comes to designing a walk-in closet. Most of the closets we design for our clients are more than just a closet they’re dressing rooms. They include seating, built-in storage, and dressers. Here are some helpful tips on how we’ve designed luxurious dressing room closets.

Storage

Having the right amount of storage for your clothes and accessories will help you to stay organized. Determining how much room you need for shelving, drawers, and railings will depend on what you have in your wardrobe. Finding out how much space you should allocate for shirts, shoes, coats, and jeans will help when designing the closet space. Some people prefer having an island in the middle of their walk-in closet to create more storage space for accessories.

Seating

Include seating like an ottoman or nice chair in your closet to make the room seem more like a boutique. Seating will create more of a luxurious feeling when you’re trying on your clothes.

Lighting

A room is not complete without an elegant light fixture like a chandelier to set the mood. Lighting is key especially when trying on clothes.

His & Hers

If you have enough space, we would suggest having two separate closets. This will help with creating more space for your wardrobe and keep things less cluttered. For instance, men and women have different types of wardrobes and accessories meaning they will need different types of storage space to stay organized.

When a property commands an extraordinary natural vista, the residence must answer with equal magnificence. The interplay between interior spaces and the external environment dictates the true essence of a bespoke estate. Achieving perfect harmony requires an uncompromising vision where nature and architecture converse flawlessly. The most breathtaking rooms never compete with the beauty just outside the glass. Masterful styling acts as a subtle frame for the world beyond the walls. Every selection of fabric and finish must elevate the surrounding environment without causing visual distraction.

Exceptional illumination does far more than simply brighten a room. It dictates the entire emotional resonance of a space and defines the architectural mood. When curated with exacting precision, customized illumination transcends mere function to become breathtaking physical art.

Building a luxury custom home requires more than strong ideas in separate phases. It requires architecture, interior design, and construction to work together from the beginning. In high end residential interior design, every decision affects another, which is why a more collaborative process often leads to a better final result. A ceiling detail can influence lighting. Cabinetry design can affect framing and electrical planning. Material selections can impact installation, timelines, and architectural detailing. When these disciplines are aligned early, the home feels more cohesive, more intentional, and more fully resolved. At Fratantoni, our in house teams at Fratantoni Design , Fratantoni Interior Designers, and Fratantoni Luxury Estates work together to create luxury homes that are thoughtfully developed from concept to completion.

Building a custom home is one of the most exciting opportunities a homeowner can experience. It is a chance to create a residence that reflects your lifestyle, aesthetic, and long term vision in a way that feels deeply personal. For luxury homeowners, that process should be intentional from the very beginning. Every room, finish, architectural detail, and functional feature should work together to create a home that feels cohesive, elevated, and entirely custom. One of the biggest mistakes homeowners make when building a new home is waiting too long to involve an interior designer. Many people assume interior design begins after the floor plan is complete or once construction has already started. In reality, the most successful luxury homes begin with interior design much earlier in the process.
