Functionality, Accessibility, and Beauty:

Now, you may think it is silly, however, here at Fratantoni Interior Designers we make sure that our clients understand the importance of choosing the perfect sink! Why may you ask? From bathroom sinks to kitchen sinks, this is an appliance that is frequently used throughout the day! Our luxury interior designers have created a guide to sinks, helping you choose the best sink based on you and your needs. As well as functionality, accessibility, and beauty to best fit your lifestyle.

First, a lot of factors come into play when choosing which sink best suits the room. Functionality and beauty are two of the biggest factors, and you do not just have to choose one. You can have a sink that fits your aesthetic while still functional and accessible.

Integrated Sinks:

Recently in modern homes, integrated sinks are found in both kitchens and bathrooms. It is used out of the same material as the countertop. Rather than the sink and the counter being separate elements, the elements are fused together creating a seamless transition. Integrated sink materials are commonly made of marble, granite, quartz stones, and stainless steel (in more industrial kitchens). Multiple different finishes are available for these materials such as polished, honed, and antique.

Vessel Sinks:

Similar to integrated sinks, vessel sinks are commonly found in modern and transitional homes. However, vessel sinks use materials such as stone, glass, metal, porcelain, marble, and stainless steel. Vessel sinks have unique shapes and sizes, often bowl or rectangular with different patterns and textures. Decorative sinks add an accent to complement the rest of the vanity and bathroom. Featured below is the Bolero Estate with a decorative vessel sink.

Farmhouse Sinks:

Our guide to sinks includes the vessel sink, integrated sinks, and of course you cannot forget about the farmhouse sink! Your kitchen and laundry room are two places that are frequently used and having a farmhouse sink is the perfect addition. Farmhouse sinks are a trend that is not going anywhere anytime soon. Multiple different materials can be used for a farmhouse sink and have countless aesthetic appearances. Functionality allows you to easily wash larger items such as pants, and soak items before you wash them. In the laundry room, functionality is similar to soaking items before washing.

Furthermore, there are multiple different types of sinks that you can choose from for your home. Our interior designer’s guide to sinks includes just some of the multiple different options that you have! Remember that functionality, accessibility, and beauty do not have to be compromised for one another and that there is a sink that has all three for you!

How Luxury Interior Designers Coordinate With Architects and Builders
By Josie Fratantoni February 6, 2026
Designing a luxury custom home requires more than selecting furnishings or choosing color palettes. True high end residential interiors are the result of close collaboration between interior designers, architects, and builders working toward a shared vision. When these disciplines operate in alignment from the earliest planning stages, the finished residence reflects cohesion, functionality, and long term livability rather than disconnected decisions made in isolation. For homeowners investing in a custom estate, understanding how a luxury interior designer coordinates with architects and builders provides clarity and confidence throughout the design journey. This collaborative process ensures that interior layouts, structural planning, and construction execution all support one another rather than compete for space or resources.
Working With a Nationwide Luxury Interior Design Firm From Concept to Completion
By Jessica Fratantoni January 28, 2026
Designing the interiors of a custom luxury home is a deeply personal and highly detailed process. For homeowners building or renovating high end residences, choosing a nationwide luxury interior design firm provides both creative vision and logistical confidence. A firm that operates across state lines brings experience, structure, and the ability to manage complex projects while maintaining a consistent standard of excellence from the earliest design conversations through final installation. A nationwide luxury interior designer is not simply selecting furnishings or finishes. The role extends into space planning, material selection, custom millwork coordination, lighting design, furniture sourcing, and the overall lifestyle functionality of the residence. When executed properly, this process transforms a home into a cohesive environment that reflects the homeowner’s identity while supporting long term comfort and usability.

When most people think about interior design, they imagine furniture, finishes, and final styling. In reality, the most successful luxury interiors are shaped long before any of those decisions are made. For custom homes and high-end renovations, interior design should begin at the architectural planning stage , not after construction documents are complete. When interior designers are involved early, they help shape the very framework of how a home functions, feels, and lives for decades to come. This early collaboration is one of the most overlooked advantages in luxury home design, and one that discerning homeowners increasingly prioritize.

By Jessica Fratantoni January 12, 2026
Luxury interior design in 2026 is no longer defined by excess, trend saturation, or price alone. Today’s most discerning homeowners are seeking something far more refined: intentional design, expert execution, and spaces that feel deeply personal while remaining timeless. As expectations rise, the definition of true luxury has evolved into a balance of craftsmanship, lifestyle alignment, and thoughtful restraint.
