Luxury Lighting

Picture this, you walk into a room, what is one of the first things you do? You scan the room from left to right and look up at the ceiling. However, normally one of the only ways to do this is if the room is lit up. Now this may seem silly, but as interior designers, luxury lighting is one of the most important elements of a home! 

In a home, lighting can transform a room from dull to refreshing and bright. Lighting can achieve different effects depending on the color temperature of the lightbulb and the interior design concept. For example, in modern homes, often the lighting temperature is cool white as opposed to the temperature of an old-world style home which is more extra warm light. Below is an example of a gorgeous kitchen with extra warm light. Giving a different ambiance to the room and creating a calming space. 

Certain luxury lighting reflects off of elements of a room differently than others. While designing your home, you have the option of the ambiance of a room and if you want your lighting to be the overall focal point of the room. In an entryway, minimal pieces of furniture are usually used so that the entry remains uncluttered. With open space and less decor than in a closed space room, adding a chandelier as a focal point and statement piece of the entryway ensures that your entry makes a lasting first impression.

Layering lighting in a room when there is not a specific statement lighting piece comes in various forms. Light options such as can lights, wall sconces, recessed lighting, decorative pendants, and lamps can be mixed and matched in a room to still bring light to a room but not a main focal point.
