Fratantoni Interior Designers • May 28, 2021

We couldn’t be more excited to share with you the interior design details of this gorgeous French Country Home. Traditionally this style tends to be more rustic, but we confidently chose to showcase simple elegancy in our favorite features. Check it out!

What is French Country?

French Country is an interior design style that was inspired by farmhouses and country homes in rural France. This style boasts of warmth and that welcoming feel everyone desires when you enter their home.  The style originated in the Provence region of France. Even though this is the inspiration behind the design, anyone has the flexibility to add their own personal touch. And that is the beauty of interior design styles.

Features of French Country

Should you choose to recreate this style, then it is essential to understand the significant features that characterize French Country design. First, you really can’t go wrong with such a wide color scheme. However, lighter neutral shades are often used with a mix of deep green and red shades. The flooring in French Country style is a significant feature as natural materials such as stone and wood are used. French Country is almost the exact opposite of the minimalist look making accessories a huge part of this design style. These are just a few of the main features that define the French Country design.

Kitchen Details

The real showpiece in this project would have to be the kitchen. Everyone is loving the flow that the open concept kitchen brings for entertaining and everyday life. The kitchen features a huge, Mediterranean, u-shaped layout. This design showcases multicolored marble floors. We used recessed-panel black cabinets with marble countertops on the perimeter and butcher block for the island countertop. Our clients wanted a large island with bar stool seating.

The back wall has a gorgeous marble backsplash that extends to the ceiling. This kitchen backsplash features a custom tile design above the stove with gold accents. In this kitchen design, we planned for an undermount sink and paneled appliances. Gold hardware surrounds the kitchen for a beautiful accent on those black cabinets. We included open shelving on both sides of the gas-burning stove as a unique element. Lastly, as the final touch, we added a floral loveseat under the window which adds the perfect pop of colors and comfort. Not to mention the loveseat is paired with a darling oval dining table.

Living Room Details

The open concept continues into the living room with the dark wood floors making a statement. The focal point of this French Country living room is a beige U-shaped sectional couch. The sectional is decorated with floral throw pillows to match the kitchen loveseat. At the center of the u-shaped sectional sits a glass coffee table. And a built-in stone fireplace acts as the focal point on the back wall. Above the stone fireplace sits a wall-mounted tv. Off to the side of the living room, there is a beautiful built-in bar with gray cabinets.

This custom bar features built-in shelving with two large wine coolers and a mirrored back bar shelf. For a nice place to sit and relax, we’ve added a bar table for two to sit in front of the built-ins. And for the cherry on top, this French Country bar opens to a charming courtyard patio with a built-in wall fountain.

Hallway Details

With French Country being big on natural materials, we had to include the detailed shots of this wood-designed door. We are proud to say that these gorgeous wood doors are custom-designed, only the best for our clients. Meanwhile, the hallway features a gold and black chandelier. Finally, the staircase features a custom stair runner with gold metal detailing.

Guest Bathroom Details

Now on to the luxurious French Country guest bathroom. Upon entry, I don’t know if the ornate vanity or the unique black and white flooring catches your eye first. This custom vanity features gold and marble which is everything you need for a luxurious bathroom design. Lastly, the shower door features a black grid door design.

Home Theatre Details

Without delay, let’s check out what the French Country home theatre has to offer. This cozy room features custom wall-to-wall black built-ins with a large TV screen. At the center of the room sits a cognac leather sectional for prime viewing. And for a chic touch, the windows are dressed in damask patterned curtains.

Bedroom Details

One of our favorite design details in this project is the floral wallpaper in the bedroom. The wallpaper is the perfect pop of color to draw you in and leave you wanting more. The floral feature wall is finished off with two single panel beige curtains on both sides. This French Country bedroom features a cozy bed with colorful throw pillows and white bedding. Additionally, two bronze nightstands sit on both sides of the bed and a black tufted bench rests at the end.

Master Bathroom Details

To end with, the mast bedroom is only fair. This French Country master bathroom features an outstanding shower with all white tile and a gold showerhead. The unique, floral-inspired shower tile is truly one of a kind. The shower door is hinged with matching gold accents. And we can’t forget the fabulous crystal chandelier that hangs from the center of the room. Our world-renowned designers covered every detail here.

How Luxury Interior Designers Coordinate With Architects and Builders
By Josie Fratantoni February 6, 2026
Designing a luxury custom home requires more than selecting furnishings or choosing color palettes. True high end residential interiors are the result of close collaboration between interior designers, architects, and builders working toward a shared vision. When these disciplines operate in alignment from the earliest planning stages, the finished residence reflects cohesion, functionality, and long term livability rather than disconnected decisions made in isolation. For homeowners investing in a custom estate, understanding how a luxury interior designer coordinates with architects and builders provides clarity and confidence throughout the design journey. This collaborative process ensures that interior layouts, structural planning, and construction execution all support one another rather than compete for space or resources.

Designing the interiors of a custom luxury home is a deeply personal and highly detailed process. For homeowners building or renovating high end residences, choosing a nationwide luxury interior design firm provides both creative vision and logistical confidence. A firm that operates across state lines brings experience, structure, and the ability to manage complex projects while maintaining a consistent standard of excellence from the earliest design conversations through final installation. A nationwide luxury interior designer is not simply selecting furnishings or finishes. The role extends into space planning, material selection, custom millwork coordination, lighting design, furniture sourcing, and the overall lifestyle functionality of the residence. When executed properly, this process transforms a home into a cohesive environment that reflects the homeowner’s identity while supporting long term comfort and usability.

When most people think about interior design, they imagine furniture, finishes, and final styling. In reality, the most successful luxury interiors are shaped long before any of those decisions are made. For custom homes and high-end renovations, interior design should begin at the architectural planning stage , not after construction documents are complete. When interior designers are involved early, they help shape the very framework of how a home functions, feels, and lives for decades to come. This early collaboration is one of the most overlooked advantages in luxury home design, and one that discerning homeowners increasingly prioritize.
