The classic beauty of natural wood can add texture and warmth to any room. These are some simple ways to incorporate natural wood into your home.

Using Natural Wood in Your home

Integrating more natural elements in interior design has been a huge trend in 2020 and it will not be going anywhere in 2021. When done right this trend can be a great way to enhance the style of your home. Using natural wood can create more texture, depth, and character in your home. These are a few unique ways we have used natural wood in our designs.

Ceilings and Walls

To get the modern farmhouse style that is wildly popular right now you can incorporate exposed wood beams. For example, in this bedroom design, we used natural wood to create more depth and texture in a small space with exposed beams and an accent wall. The ceiling beams create an illusion of a higher ceiling. The dark-toned wood helps bring more warmth and coziness into this space.

Kitchen Accents

There are many ways to use natural wood in your kitchen. We brought a natural and rustic style into this Modern French Country kitchen with this natural wood range hood and kitchen island. The deep tone of the wood used in this kitchen helps to compliment and neutralize the dark-colored cabinets.

Natural Wood

Furniture

Using natural wood furniture is a simple way to execute this trend. Whether it’s for your bedroom, dining room, living room, or even bathroom there are tons of options to choose from. The great thing about choosing natural materials for your furniture is its timelessness. With wood, you’ll never have to worry about your furniture going out of style.

Building a luxury custom home requires more than strong ideas in separate phases. It requires architecture, interior design, and construction to work together from the beginning. In high end residential interior design, every decision affects another, which is why a more collaborative process often leads to a better final result. A ceiling detail can influence lighting. Cabinetry design can affect framing and electrical planning. Material selections can impact installation, timelines, and architectural detailing. When these disciplines are aligned early, the home feels more cohesive, more intentional, and more fully resolved. At Fratantoni, our in house teams at Fratantoni Design , Fratantoni Interior Designers, and Fratantoni Luxury Estates work together to create luxury homes that are thoughtfully developed from concept to completion.

Building a custom home is one of the most exciting opportunities a homeowner can experience. It is a chance to create a residence that reflects your lifestyle, aesthetic, and long term vision in a way that feels deeply personal. For luxury homeowners, that process should be intentional from the very beginning. Every room, finish, architectural detail, and functional feature should work together to create a home that feels cohesive, elevated, and entirely custom. One of the biggest mistakes homeowners make when building a new home is waiting too long to involve an interior designer. Many people assume interior design begins after the floor plan is complete or once construction has already started. In reality, the most successful luxury homes begin with interior design much earlier in the process.
